 Guidelines

Note that the guidelines below will be strictly enforced. Submissions not properly adhering to the specified format will be automatically rejected without further opportunities for revision.

Below are the specific guidelines for paper submissions:

1. Length: Papers should be a maximum of 8,000 words in length (tables, figs. and refs. included). Papers that are too long (above 8,000 words) or short (below 5,000 words) will not be considered.

2. Dimensions: A4 size (8.5"x11" or 21 cm x 29.7 cm)

3. Spacing: Single-spaced (not double-spaced)

4. Font type and size: Times New Roman 11 font for entire paper (except abstract and block quotes, which should be in 10 point font)

5. Margins on right not justified - leave an uneven edge on right.

6. No paragraph indentations - put one space between each paragraph.

7. Citation system: APA (American Psychological Association). Example 1 / 2 / 3 / 4

8. Footnotes: Do not use automated footnotes. Use endnotes, but keep them to a minimum and add them manually at the end of your paper. Use superscript for the endnote numbers in the main text. As APA is based on in-text citations, you need not include any endnotes. If you wish, use them (but not too many) just to add some additional information that cannot fit into the body of your paper.

9. Tables, etc.: Please keep tables, charts, graphs, etc. to a minimum. Papers with large numbers of tables, etc. are difficult to read and to format and are very likely to be rejected. Everything should also be black and white - no color images.

10. Spelling. Use US spellings.

11. Quotation marks:  Use "double" quotation marks, not 'single' ones. "Punctuation goes inside the marks as in this sentence." Do not put punctuation "outside the quotation marks as in this example".

12. Do not use any automated formatting (no special software programs) for headings or APA citations - this makes it difficult to edit as the formatting has to be removed to make all papers uniform and publishable.

13. Include a word count at the end of the paper (e.g., Word count: 6,456 words).

14. Use the following template for guidance: paper template [updated 12 December, 2011]

Papers that have the highest chance of being accepted are those which are in the correct format, most closely match the conference theme, do not have excessive numbers of tables/graphs/charts (2 or 3 are fine, but not more, except in exceptional cases) and which will require few or no revisions. As the papers will be carefully assessed by referees, please note that only the very best ones - not all - can be published.
