To book accommodations in English, Rakuten Travel is one option, although the selection for Kobe is limited. Another service for booking in English is Asia Rooms.
You may stay in the Sannomiya/Shin Kobe/Motomachi areas and enjoy the city atmosphere, or on Port Island, where you will be within walking distance of the conference site.
Most hotels are booked up on weekends, so we suggest you reserve early. Normally there is no fee for changes/cancellations if they are done in advance.
